Shadow IT

Shadow IT is the use of digital devices, software, applications, and services without the approval of the IT department. Shadow IT problems can occur when employees use unauthorized personal devices or cloud-based applications to do work-related tasks, bypassing official company channels and creating security risks that can result in breaches, compliance violations, and more.
