Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)
A computer emergency response team (CERT) is a group of cybersecurity experts who prevent, detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents, like data breaches and denial-of-service attacks. Computer emergency response team roles and responsibilities include providing alerts and incident handling guidelines and helping to develop best practices for information security. Many large organizations and government agencies have their own internal CERT teams, such as the US Department of Defense computer emergency response team.
